Alyson & Patrick
What a Crazy Night! From shirtless groomsmen, silly hats, funny dancing, my second shooter doing the worm and myself jamming to “The Darkness”. It was a party.
I think all photographers say this but I LOVE this couple. They have taken a part of my soul, energy and love. They are friends. Not just the, we say we are friends but then we never talk kind, but the kind that invites me out to dinner months after their wedding. Alyson and Patrick are two genuine people with big hearts, good laughs, and horrible dance moves.. well thats just Alyson and I lol.
From the moment this couple came into my life it was a constant state of bliss. I loved listening to their first kiss story, how he proposed and seeing them say “I Do”. A few tears here and there and I found myself dreading the wedding. I KNOW. What the heck. Im a photographer how can I dread the wedding. Well you see, if they got married they no longer would need me to chat with about planning, timelines, dresses, dancing and flowers. I was sad. I didn’t want them to get married because I didn’t want to lose these amazing people in my life. Now.. I get that this post is starting to sound a bit selfish. And I will admit, I was. Finding truly kind people in the world can sometimes be hard and I wasn’t about to let these two go. Pat being the intuitive person he is noticed I was a bit sad. When he asked why I had to spill. I had to tell them, “I didn’t want them to get married because I didn’t want them to leave me”. Sounding like a needy person the words just came out. No stopping them. I waited for his response shocked by what I had admitted.
Pat reached his arm around me and stated clear as day, “Krista, this is only the beginning , not the end”.
And just like that I felt at ease. I knew these two had become my friends. The best part was over the past year and a half I have watched them grow into the most loving couple. I saw them start their journey and as Pat had stated, it was only the beginning. I celebrated the purchase of their first home, talked stocks and life. I randomly message them funny songs that remind me of their wedding. And most of all I wish them the most happiest of lives together. I could want nothing more but your happiness. I can’t wait to see how you tackle the world together, faithfully and 100% truly, madly, deeply in love.
Congratulations you two!
