Hey there lovely people!

I think its about time we chat about the first wedding of the year! Rebecca and Jay's Great Gatsby white tent wedding in Sturgeon Bay, WI.  One for the BOOKS!

However before every beginning of the love story there is a journey leading up to it. You may recall my post about two crazy love birds who jumped in freezing bay water at White Fish Dunes State Park during May to get the perfect engagement shot, yup.. that's Rebecca and Jay.

So when their wedding day arrived I was so stoked to start telling more of their story. Which I may add was hard as hell. Why you may ask? You, try not balling like a baby when the Groom starts the morning with three strategically planned letters for his Bride. One in the morning with a customized coffee mug sporting her new last name. One as she is finishing up getting ready with an engraved watch, wedding date listed. Throw in a letter from the Bride to her Daughter about how proud she is of her and the young lady she is becoming. Lastly, one final letter to the Bride accompanied by a single red rose ( yes.. bachelor moment lol) right before she walked down the aisle. It was a day of love letters, stolen breaths and priceless moments.

However, the real moment that had me tearing up on the side aisle was during the ceremony. I have heard many great and true sentiments during a ceremony between the Bride and Groom. BUT NEVER EVER have I had a Groom pull up each individual child and vow to love them and cherish them as much as their Mom.  Jay took the time to write beautiful sentiments to both Tinley and Keagan. He spoke to them about how he was so happy to have become part of their lives. How he loved them each more and more everyday. How he was so proud of them and how he vowed to always be there for them. SEE ... even you are tearing up now!

It was truly amazing to see the amazing love this family had for each other.

The day was not without its challenges by any means. We ended up having the hottest day of the year, in the Bridal Chapel of Sturgeon Bay, WI.  The draw bridge made the own bride late to her ceremony...lol hows that for irony. And the reception was nearly blown away by hail, gusty winds, and flooding rain.

All of the events mother nature threw at them on their wedding day did not stop the love or the party! The night roared on with flapper dresses, fun props and crazy dancing!

Rebecca and Jay, as always I love the adventure of getting to know you and your love story. I hope to remain a part of it as you two grow old together. I think it's safe to say if you made it through all of that on you wedding day.. you can take on anything!

Congratulations!
